For the first time in Bulgaria students sat successfully the International Baccalaureate exams.

In May 2005 for the first time in Bulgaria the International Baccalaureate exams took place. The exams are convened under the auspices of the based in Switzerland International Baccalaureate Organization, where members are more than 1400 schools in the world, "Prof. Vassil Zlatarski" Private School, being one of them. The exams lead to the award of the prestigious IB Diploma, which is highly regarded at universities across the world.

Zlatarski School received an excellent appraisal from the International Baccalaureate official, who arrived in Sofia at the beginning of May 2005 to check whether the IB exam requirements and conditions were adhered to. This is the first International Baccalaureate Class, graduating in Bulgaria.

On the 6 July 2005 the International Baccalaureate Organisation Awarding Committee announced the results from Exam Session May 2005. The students, who have been following the IB Diploma Programme at the first international school in Bulgaria - "Prof. Vassil Zlatarski", Sofia, received excellent and very good results. The exams of our students were graded by certified examiners of the IBO in 25 countries in the world, among which the USA, the UK, France, Austria, Italy, Greece and Australia. The standardization of the exams and the adherence to the strict regulations for convening the exams guarantee that the results, achieved by out students correspond to the high standards of the International Baccalaureate Organization.

On the basis of the grading system of 0 to 7, our students received grades 6 and 7 in Language A1 and German and 5-7 in English A2 and English B. The School is glad to announce that the average results of our students are not only equal to the international results statistics for this exam session, but they are also higher in some areas:
