Students of Zlatarski International School book a date at the European Parliament

Five Zlatarski School students won the 2014 Sofia edition of the Euroscola competition organized by the European Parliament. The contest took place at the Information Centre of the European Parliament in Sofia and included public debating in Bulgarian, and English, of major issues concerning the goals and functions of the European Union institutions under the common theme of the anticipated elections for European Parliament in May 2014.

11 grade students Kiril Krastev, David Wiske, Yoanna Lukova, Kristiyan Kalchev and Mario Mitov, under the supervision of Mrs. Diana Robova and Dr. Boris Todorov, made an exemplary presentation on the procedures of nominating and selecting European Commission members and chairman, and discussed at length the complex and delicate fabric of EU politics. They were invited to take part in one of the Euroscola Days at the European Parliament in Strasbourg, February 28. The school will send a large delegation of students to deliberate on ongoing political issues with peers from around the continent. Hold tight Strasbourg, here we come!
